Edna Estifania A. Co
Office Address: National College of Public Administration and Governance (NCPAG), University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City Profile: Edna Estifania A. Co is a full professor and the incumbent Dean of the UP National College of Public Administration and Governance (NCPAG). She is also the current Deputy Secretary General of EROPA. Dean Co served as College Secretary and Director of the academic program from 1999 to 2001 and had served in various committees of the university, including Chairmanship of the University Committee on Governance in 2002. She was also a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Manchester, Institute for Development Policy and Management (IDPM). She has numerous researches and publications which count among others her works which garnered three (3) international publication awards by the University of the Philippines. She did research and published a series of books on Philippine democracy assessment (Elections and Political Parties, Minimizing Corruption, Social and Economic Rights, and the forthcoming Rule of Law and Access to Justice) as a result of her collaboration with the Sweden-based International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA). Dean Co has also extended service in the field of public administration by serving as Officer-in-charge of the Quezon City Polytechnic University, as consultant to the Office of then Senator Richard J. Gordon in the latter’s committee on Suffrage and Constitutional Reforms, and the former Congressman Mario J. Aguja of the Akbayan party list. She also served as volunteer consultant in the “War Room” of the Aquino-Roxas campaign in the 2010 national election. In 2003, Dr. Co served as member of the Evaluation of Graduate Program in the Philippines (EGEP), a team commissioned by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to evaluate the 3 biggest graduate programs in the country, and ranked schools according to their performance and standing. In addition, she is a member of the Movement for Good Governance (MGG). Dean Co has a Doctor and Master in Public Administration from the University of the Philippines. She finished her Bachelor’s Degree in A.B. Literature (magna cum laude) from Sacred Heart College (Daughters of Charity). |
