​This lecture is about youth engagement in local governance, focusing on the decision making practices of Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) councils. The presentation is an offshoot from a CLRG researcher’s study submitted to the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) in Tokyo, Japan in 2019. It looks at SK's decision making practices vis-à-vis some decision making models / theories.

The presentation will discuss the following:

        •youth engagement and related concepts and trends;

        •some decision making models or theories in the public setting; and

        •findings on SK decision making and recommendations on this aspect
