The course aims to prepare local chief executives and their team to assume the critical mandate of leading their constituencies and managing the local bureaucracy towards participative, inclusive, and sustainable local development. In this course, participants will learn about key management concepts, governance principles, and practical steps in performing the executive functions in their LGU.

Key Benefits

Designed for Mayors and Governors, whether first-termers or re-elected, and members of the LGU executive departments, the course strengthens the participants’ foundation of good governance and effective local administration. The course covers both the theoretical and practical areas of the local executive function, focusing on local development, planning, budgeting, human resource management, and special issues in local governance.

The participants will be guided on how to build and improve their executive agenda through evidence-based decision-making. Through the learning, peer mentoring, and workshop sessions, they will be able to translate their campaign platforms to action plan that responds to the developmental needs of their constituencies and factors in the dynamics of the executive-legislative relations and considers the state of their LGU bureaucracy.
