Isko Moreno is an actor-turned politician who successfully crossed-over from the film industry to local government. He first served as a councilor in Manila and rose to be its Vice Mayor and presiding officer of the Manila City Council. Today, he is also National President of the Vice Mayor’s League of the Philippines. Under Vice Mayor Moreno’s leadership of the VMLP, CLRG now runs quarterly “Know and Inform Sessions” on burning issues that are of interest to the organization.
Vice Mayor Moreno is an alumnus of CLRG’s Development Legislation Enhancement Course (DLEC). His was one of the smallest batches of DLEC, a course he took with a handful of vice mayors from Bohol. Isko has always been frank about how his studies at CLRG gave him confidence and knowledge to navigate that first term of a local legislator. Today, Isko has moved on to attend law school and pursue further studies at Harvard Kennedy School and Oxford University.
