Vilma Santos-Recto

It is undeniable that one of our more famous alumni is Vilma Santos-Recto. She is currently serving her third term as Governor of the province of Batangas (Luzon) and was former three-term Mayor of Lipa City, Batangas. A multi-awarded actress who was able to cross-over to politics she is now a multi-awarded local government official. In 2012, Governor Vi was conferred the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award by President Benigno Aquino.

As mayor-elect of Lipa City, Vilma Santos-Recto requested for a Special Course (“crash course”) on Local Governance which she attended with her core staff.

In the period after every election, CLRG would always encounter inquiries such as “Dito po ba yung in-attend-an ni Vilma Santos?” (Is this the place where Vilma Santos took a course?). With her sheer star power and consequent good performance in local governance, the governor may have been an unwitting endorser of our programs. CLRG continues to be proudly associated with our alumna.
