Research Areas:

Development planning, local water service provision, inter-local cooperation, HIV and AIDS policy response, decision support systems, participatory budgeting, development aid for LGUs, local government integrity system, barangay justice


Expertise:

Social research, system review and process improvement, development of knowledge products, design and management of capacity building programs, event conceptualization and organization (conference; fora), LGU organizational diagnosis, process documentation.


Short Bio:

Elyzabeth Cureg is a University Researcher in NCPAG who has been engaged in local governance research and capacity building since 2002. She has served as course manager, resource person, and facilitator for training courses offered by CLRG (Center for Local and Regional Governance) for its fee-based clients and for commissioned courses for partner institutions. She has co-authored handbooks on subjects like citizen’s charter formulation, youth agenda localization, and the critical steps for newly elected local leaders. Among her most recent research involvements are on the conduct of the rapid field appraisal on decentralization for NCR and the documentation of a DA-BAR supported participatory action research project in Isabela. She also currently teaches tools on human resource management for NCPAG undergraduate students.

She earned her Master of Public Policy in Japan and Master Una Livello in Local Development from Padova University, Italy. She has a black belt as Associate Lean Six Sigma Expert conferred by DOST and UP National Engineering Center. She also has a Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning and a Political Science degree, both from the University of the Philippines.
